Breno ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Breno mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our App.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Your full name
- Your email address
- A password (stored securely in hashed form)
1.2 Profile Information
You may optionally provide:
- A profile photo (avatar)
- A location description (e.g., "Paris, France")
- A private account preference (controls who can see your activities)
1.3 Activity Data
When you log an activity, we collect:
- Activity type (Movie, Theatre, Exhibition, Concert, or Book)
- Title of the activity
- A note or description (up to 100 words)
- Date and time
- Location (optional, entered manually via location search or auto-filled from your device)
- Photos (up to 5 per activity)
- Privacy setting (whether the activity is private or visible to followers)
1.4 Social Interaction Data
When you interact with other users, we collect:
- Follow relationships (including pending follow requests for private accounts)
- Likes on activities
- Comments on activities
1.5 Notification Data
We collect and store notification records to keep you informed about activity on your account:
- Notification type (follow, like, comment, comment reply)
- Read/unread status
- Associated user and activity references
1.6 Push Notification Data
With your explicit permission, we collect your device push notification token to deliver push notifications. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.
1.7 Device & Location Data
With your explicit permission, we may access your approximate location (city and country level only) to auto-fill the location field when logging an activity. We do not store precise GPS coordinates.
1.8 Automatically Collected Data
We collect minimal technical data necessary for app operation:
- Device type and operating system version
- App version
- Crash and error logs
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Enable you to log and share cultural activities
- Display your profile to other users
- Provide the social feed and follow functionality
- Manage private account settings and follow requests
- Send in-app and push notifications about follows, likes, comments, and replies
- Enforce activity-level privacy (private logs visible only to you)
- Auto-fill location when you log an activity (with your permission)
- Provide location search and autocomplete when logging activities
- Improve and maintain the App
- Respond to support requests
3. How We Share Your Information
3.1 With Other Users
The following information is visible to other Breno users:
- Your name, avatar, and location description
- Your logged activities (type, title, note, date, location, photos) — unless your account is private, in which case only approved followers can see your activities
- Your follower and following counts
Activities marked as private are visible only to you, regardless of your account privacy setting. Follow requests for private accounts are visible only to you until you accept or reject them.
3.2 With Service Providers
We use Supabase as our backend infrastructure provider. Supabase processes and stores your data on our behalf, including account authentication, database storage, file storage (photos), and real-time notifications.

3.3 We Do NOT
- Sell your personal data to third parties
- Share your data with advertisers
- Use your data for targeted advertising
- Use any third-party analytics or tracking services
4. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored on Supabase's secure cloud infrastructure
- Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
- All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
- Photos are stored in Supabase's secure storage buckets
- We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data through the App
- Update your profile information at any time
- Switch your account between public and private at any time
- Accept or reject follow requests at any time
- Mark individual activities as private
- Disable push notifications at any time through your device settings
- Delete your account and all associated data from the Settings screen
- Revoke location, camera, or photo library permissions at any time through your device settings
When you delete your account, your profile, activities, photos, comments, likes, follows, follow requests, and notifications are permanently removed. This action cannot be undone.
6. Data Retention
- We retain your data for as long as your account is active
- When you delete your account, all your data is permanently deleted from our systems
- We do not retain backups of deleted account data
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information.
8. Third-Party Links
The App does not contain links to third-party websites or services beyond those described in this policy.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
